Omnia Bistro & Bar

We had an outstanding evening at Omnia for a special dinner. The service was fantastic, Nina and all the other staff looked after us so well and were so knowledgeable about the food. The food was exquisite - highlights were the honey roasted duck, carrots, sourdough with whipped butter and cheesecake. Would absolutely return for more - the flavours were so clever and moreish. Attention to detail was *chefs kiss*. Can’t recommend enough for a suave meal out.

If it’s your first time, I highly recommend the tasting menu. It’s the best way to experience the full menu. First of all, the place is beautiful, and we were welcomed by Pedro, who was incredibly attentive. Everything he suggested was outstanding! And the food? I honestly had one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every dish had flavors that exploded in your mouth. Tasting each element on its own and then together gives you completely different flavor experiences. The duck with the cherry ketchup. I mean cherry ketchup?! was absolutely GENIUS. It melted in my mouth and paired perfectly with the duck. Every single dollar is worth it for this place! I highly recommend it, and I’m already curious to try more dishes from the menu. 10/10

This is fast becoming my favourite night out in Melbourne, especially when the live jazz is playing. Omnia somehow takes the traditional South Yarra dining experience and modernises it, whilst taking it to a whole new level. The setting is fresh with towering ceilings, greenery, natural light by day, a gorgeous bar and huge, whimsical David Bromley artworks. Staff are some of Melbourne’s best. Warm, professional and knowledgeable. The A Team. The menu is exceptional and every dish I have eaten there is a treat and of a global standard. Bar snacks are adorably presented with stunning colours and texture. As much art as flavour. The scotch egg was out of this world. The best I’ve had anywhere. Celery, salsa verde, parmesan custard & lavosh was also a big wow. The cucumber martini was brilliant as well. The duck for two is one of the best on offer in Australia and includes a duck pie and some of the best, most tender duck with crispy skin. Staff bring it out before it is carved up adding a bit of theatre. Wines by the glass were brilliant -many French which I love but the list is very global. The night was there, sophisticated live jazz music just topped it off. I just can’t wait to get back there. For me the bar snacks and drinks were a 10. So rare to find that anywhere in Australia right now.

Jazz night is a must to try!. Nina attended us. in general the staff was friendly and very professional. She in particular had many details with us and was attentive throughout the night. On the other hand, the flavours in the dishes were magnificent, for me the desserts are unmissable! We will definitely return

Very chic bistro, ideally located in South Yarra, between bars and galleries. We had a wonderful evening accompanied by charming and competent service. The drinks and dishes were excellent, and they were happy to accommodate requests that weren't on the menu. The liquid core cheesecake was outstanding. Highly recommended.

We went on a Wednesday night for my daughter’s birthday. The place was busy for a Wednesday night. Jazz music was playing which made the place felt cozy. The service was implacable from the minute we walked in till we left the restaurant. The food was amazingly delicious! We ordered some small dishes like the sourdough bread, steak tartare, ‘cigars’, scotch eggs, kingfish as our entrees. The dry aged duck, steaks, potato rosti and green beans as our main. We had liquid centre cheesecake, chocolate tarte and pavlova for dessert. They ran out of their tarte tatin, the chef gave a complimentary fruit platter as an apology. That was a nice touch! Thank you Omnia, we will be back for more!

What an absolute pleasure it was to have an anniversary dinner at Omnia. The team was so welcoming and knowledgeable, starting with the charming Anna who welcomed us at the door. The food was superb: beautiful presented, complex flavours, yet not overwrought. We shared our food, which included scotch egg, stuffed zucchini flower, snapper, potato rosti, asparagus, tomato tart and a show-stopping tarte tartin, possibly the best dessert I've ever had. The yuzu curd with the pavlova was another highlight. It's worth asking for a wine pairing suggestion just to have sommelier Pierre do his thing! A wonderful and memorable evening. Top marks.

An utterly sublime dining experience. Our children treated us to lunch at Omnia in celebration of our 39th wedding anniversary , and it was nothing short of exceptional. As vegetarians, we were captivated by the artistry, balance, and sophistication of each dish. From the exquisite starters to the indulgent desserts, every course was a masterclass in flavour and presentation. Even the coffee was superb . The service was flawless — gracious, attentive, and seamlessly delivered, from the chef through to the waiting staff. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making the entire experience feel truly special. We savoured every moment Omnia is an essential destination for anyone seeking refined dining in Melbourne.
